Why Liverpool Should Cash In On This Attacker If Tottenham Or Any Other Club Comes In With The Right Offer

Jurgen Klopp will be one of the busiest managers in the transfer market this season. There will be a few new signings and with no European football next season, the squad is expected to get thinner. Jordon Ibe will also be in demand this summer as his future under Klopp at Liverpool is uncertain. Liverpool will listen to offers for Ibe with clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspurs and Watford showing interest in the winger.

Ibe played 39 games in all competitions for Liverpool in the last season, but was inconsistent with his performances. Of the 39 games he played, Ibe completed the full 90 minutes only twice. Ibe lacks the end product and has problems with his finishing. He is one of England’s best young talents, but has so far failed to utilize his talent. Also, reports suggest that Ibe has struggled to adapt to Klopp’s demanding style of play, which makes it even tougher for him to make it to the playing eleven.

Ibe was signed by Liverpool from Wycombe as a 16 year old in 2012. He underwent loan spells at Birmingham City and Derby County before breaking into Liverpool’s senior team under Brendan Rodgers at the beginning of the 2014-15 season. Ibe showed that he was good at making runs down the flanks and taking on players. But when it comes down to finishing, Ibe needs a lot of improvement. Ibe was a regular starter in the first half of the previous season but owing to his inconsistency, was left out of the team and played only in less significant fixtures.

The winger has not had very good seasons at Liverpool and Klopp is adding a few big names to his squad which makes it even worse for Ibe. Also, there were suggestions of a rift between Klopp and Ibe although the manager has clearly denied them. Roberto Firmino, Phillipe Coutinho, Adam Lallana, James Milner and Sheyi Ojo are all seemingly ahead of Ibe for a starting place in any of the three positions behind the team’s main striker.

All these reasons make it almost certain that Ibe will leave Liverpool this summer. If Liverpool get a good offer from Tottenham, Klopp should go for it without any hesitation. Ibe could get proper game time next season at Spurs as the North Londoners will have Champions League football to focus on along with the Premier League. The move will benefit all of them and we should not be surprised if Ibe is seen in Tottenham colors next season.
