Liverpool grabbing the chance to land this underperforming PL star would be an outstanding piece of business by Klopp

Liverpool opinion: Reds should reignite interest in Jean Michael Seri

Fulham have officially and mathematically been confirmed as relegated from the Premier League, managing to survive just one season in the top-flight. That comes as a big surprise after their immense summer spending and they could lose a few superstars.

The likes of Ryan Sessegnon (Evening Standard), Aleksandar Mitrovic (Express) and Jean Michael Seri (Football London) have all been linked with a move away. All three players are brilliant in their own regard but one man that Liverpool should really make a move for is Jean Michael Seri.

The Reds were heavily linked with a move for the Ivory Coast man during his spell at OGC Nice. Yet, it’s a move that Liverpool should really consider making again. While Seri did move to Fulham, the 27-year-old has really underperformed at Craven Cottage.

He’s already made his intentions clear about where he’ll play next season (Football London), with the midfielder revealing that he’s unwilling to play in the lower leagues. This could see Seri move on or stay in the Premier League depending on how the final few weeks go.

For Liverpool, this is a move that would suit the club perfectly, especially given Adam Lallana struggles this season. That combined with the fact that James Milner is out of contract at the end of the season, makes this move all the more sensible.

It would allow Seri to slot into the team but he would be behind the likes of Naby Keita, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson. However, the 27-year-old’s creativity and ability on the ball, will make him a great asset.

While Seri has struggled this season, he has the talent and the ability to flourish for a bigger side. If there is anyone who deserves a second chance, it’s the Ivory Coast midfielder, especially given Fulham’s performances this season.

That has changed Jean Michael Seri but he has a chance to rebuild his career. He’s still in his best years as a footballer and needs to make full use of that. And given Liverpool’s lack of creativity from the middle of the park this season, it would make him a welcome addition.

Conclusion

While Liverpool are in the race for the Premier League title, there is a small chance that Manchester City might outdo them to the finish line. If that does happen, Jurgen Klopp and company need to think about next season and a player like Jean Michael Seri could be the man.

A bargain buy given that Fulham are relegated, the 27-year-old has the talent and the ability to become another Xherdan Shaqiri.

Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
