Why Manchester City Must Complete A Move For Real Madrid Star Isco

According to a report from Spanish news outlet Diario Gol (h/t Manchester Evening News), Real Madrid midfielder Isco is one of the players highly favoured by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

The Spanish international has had a mixed time with Real Madrid since joining the club from Malaga in the summer of 2013 but due to lack of form, the midfielder has seen limited game time under Zinedine Zidane.

City, who are currently leading the Premier League table at the moment, have looked phenomenal, to say the least. A plethora of smart signings in the summer coupled with Pep Guardiola’s tactical brilliance has seen the Sky Blues enjoy the best ever season in the club’s history.

That being said, however, Guardiola has always been a man of perfection and hence, it comes as no surprise as to why the Catalan is still keen on searching the market in order to strengthen his team.

The midfield, in particular, could prove to be an issue for the Cityzens in nigh future and the former Barcelona coach would well be aware of it.

Isco

David Silva, who is apparently the catalyst of the Man City midfield, has already entered the final phase of his career, while no guarantees can be made on the fitness of Ilkay Gundogan, meaning, the Sky Blues might be in dire need of a central midfielder or a playmaker this summer and that’s where Isco comes into the fray.

The Real Madrid superstar boasts of incredible talent, especially when it comes to the attacking front. Largely known for his dynamic movements and exceptional dribbling qualities, Isco’s style of play is ideally suited to Pep Guardiola’s Juego de Posicion philosophy.

Furthermore, the Spaniard could be a huge asset for the club in the coming years, considering the fact that he’s still only 25. In addition, Isco is also highly suited to the passing game, which clearly reflects in his impressive passing statistics over the past few seasons.

Though constantly being overlooked by Zinedine Zidane this season, Isco looks ready to make the next step in his career and a move to Manchester City could help him revitalise his career and potentially emerge as a world-class footballer that he was always meant to be!
