Goodbye Solskjaer? – Man Utd can get their faltering season back on track by appointing this 6-time Serie A winner

Why Max Allegri could be the right man for Manchester United

Manchester United’s season has been far from impressive, even after landing a couple of big names in the summer.

The Red Devils have looked poor in certain games, and things just aren’t working under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 1-1 draw against Arsenal also heaped more pressure on the Norwegian as this is United’s worst start to a league campaign in 30 years.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Replacing the former United star would see the Red Devils start another cycle at the club, but there is one experienced manager waiting in the wings.

Max Allegri left Juventus in the summer after several Serie A title successes. However, the Italian was never able to win the Champions League and lost a couple of finals in charge of the Turin side.

The Guardian reports that Allegri is learning English and has targeted the United job in case Solskjaer is removed from the club.

An experienced head to guide the Red Devils

Solskjaer did a great job after taking over at the Red Devils last season, but things started falling off during the end of the campaign.

This season has been a struggle and the team doesn’t seem to have a fixed game plan against the opposition.

The draw against Arsenal showed how far both teams are when compared to Liverpool and Manchester City, and the Red Devils need someone who has a lot of experience dealing with big names.

Allegri has managed some of the best in the world and he could be the strong presence needed in the team.

United have quality players in the side but need someone to get them going again and put the foot down.

Of course, things didn’t work out with Jose Mourinho or Louis van Gaal for a long time, but Allegri’s track record proves he is a winner.

Juventus have been unrivalled in the Serie A under during Allegri’s time and for all the talk of him getting the best players, Maurizio Sarri has had some troubles taking over this season.

The former Chelsea manager trails Inter Milan after six games, and there have been issues with some players too.

Allegri has lifted the Serie A six times in his managerial career, and United need that kind of leadership in the backroom.

Verdict

Solskjaer might be given more time to fix things at United, but the continuation of poor results will lead to more rumours of his exit.

Allegri is one of the biggest names in management and landing him on a free would be a great move for the Red Devils.
