Why AC Milan’s Andre Silva will turn Wolves into a surprise package in the PL next season

According to reports in Italy, Wolverhampton Wanderers are ready to make a huge offer for AC Milan striker, Andre Silva.

The Portuguese forward was signed by Milan for £33.6m from Porto just less than a year ago but his first season at San Siro has been underwhelming, to say the least. He has just contributed 10 goals and 2 assists in 39 matches.

Silva’s agent is Jorge Mendes, the ‘super agent’ who already has a number of clients at Wolves, including star Portuguese players Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Helder Costa, as well as manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

With Silva enduring a tough time in Serie A, a move away from Italy would make complete sense for him. Wolves could be ready to break the bank following their promotion to the Premier League and can consider signing Silva in summer.

Wolves enjoyed an incredible season and deservedly went up as champions from the Championship. Such has been their buzz in the Championship this season that I seriously feel they can make a telling impact in the Premier League next season.

Nuno Espirito Santo has built a fantastic squad with talented players such as Willy Boly, Diogo Jota, Helder Costa and Ruben Neves. Add the talent of Silva to their ranks and the Wolves would look like an exciting team altogether.

Silva’s move to Molineux stadium certainly looks likely as he knows Santo very well, having enjoyed a great breakthrough season at Porto under the Portuguese tactician. The 22-year-old’s arrival would be straight business and a statement of intent from Wolves that they have arrived in the Premier League.

Prior to joining Milan, Silva enjoyed a fantastic season at Porto, scoring 27 goals in all competitions. A graduate of impressive Porto academy, Silva is a clinical striker. His arrival at Wolves would be massive as he would improve their strike force. Of the current attackers, Leo Bonatini has endured a lean patch since December, while Benik Afobe is yet to fire on all cylinders.

Silva would certainly improve the Wolves’ striking department by bringing a lot of composure and movement. Moreover, despite the young age, Silva has already gained Champions League experience with Porto and has impressed both domestically and internationally. The Portuguese ace is a good finisher with good positional awareness and ability to connect well with midfielders.

With Patrick Cutrone and Nikola Kalinic ahead of him, a move to the Premier League would be the best thing for Silva. His acquisition would certainly make Santo’s Wolves a surprise package in the English top-flight next season.
