Why This Formidable Attacker Can Be “THE MAN” For Manchester United This Season?

Manchester United suffered from a goal drought under former boss Louis van Gaal last term, which hurt them in their ambition to finish in the top four and qualify a Champions League spot. Though the Red Devils did win the FA Cup eventually, they failed to perform in other competitions, as per expectations and the Dutch manager was eventually sacked.

Since then Jose Mourinho has taken over the club and has already made an impact in the transfer window, with his recent signings for the Premier League giants.

One such addition that the Portuguese boss has now been able to make to his squad’s current attack at Old Trafford is former Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose move to United was confirmed nearly a week ago.

The ex Paris Saint-Germain striker left the Parc des Princes at the end of the previous campaign and was representing the Swedish national side at the Euro 2016 tournament, though the team failed to impress, getting eliminated from the group stages itself.

Despite the let down in the Euros, the former AC Milan and Barcelona front-man enjoyed a glorious last season with the Ligue 1 champions, where he broke their record for the maximum number of goals in a single season, which was previously held by Argentine Carlos Bianchi.

The world-class attacker has been playing all over Europe over the years except England and has won so many major titles at every club that he has been to.

He is a renowned goalscorer and can give Mourinho’s side the boost that they need to not just challenge for the top flight of English football, but other titles as well.

The 34-year-old superstar, who will be 35 in October, played more than 50 games for the French giants in all competitions in the previous campaign and was once again impressive.

He was wanted by a host of clubs from the continent and the MLS as well, though he decided to join the Manchester based side, due to his admiration for Mourinho.

The star striker is not getting any younger and his past record would make him a major threat to any defence, as despite his age he can score goals for fun. It will surely take him some time to adjust to the pace of the Premier League, though if he can do so soon, there might be no stopping him.

The attacker who started at Malmo FF in his native country back in 1999, has since then played for seven top clubs across the continent and has left his mark at every single one of them, over the years.

There will be a lot of expectations from the fans, who are already overjoyed by his arrival in Manchester and will want him to take them back to their glorious days at the Theater of Dreams.
