Why Paul Pogba And Henrikh Mkhitaryan Are Going To Win The League For Manchester United This Season

Manchester United have been a busy club this summer as Jose Mourinho has looked to add some of the finest talents in world football to his club this summer. The likes of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic have already had a huge influence on the side and United currently look one of the top contenders to lift the league title this season.

The Belgian striker is expected to take United a long way in the campaign but Mourinho will know that his side has other match winners who can help him win the league. Two such players, who have started the season in bright fashion are Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenian winger failed to keep himself fit in his first season in England but has now established himself as the first choice under Mourinho, picking up four assists in the first two games of the campaign. French international Paul Pogba showed some form late last season and has started the new campaign with the bang, scoring two goals and picking up two assists already.

Both players moved to Old Trafford just last summer under Mourinho and have had enough time to acclimatize to their roles in the squad, going into their second season at the club.

Mkhitaryan, who has been used as a CAM and on the wing, seems to be full of confidence at the moment and having players like Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial to finish off chances he creates has made him a dangerous player already. He created loads of chances last season as well but United failed to take them consistently but a lot has changed over the summer helping Mkhitaryan turn into a far more effective player in front of goal.

Behind him is Pogba, who is playing like a beasty box-to-box player. It was imperative that he will struggle in his first season back in England but he still accumulated decent stats last season, showing enough promise.

The addition of Nemanja Matic to the squad has given him loads of freedom and he was one of the best players for United in both games. He looks far more composed and lethal in the final third and will only get better as the season progresses.

United have a more balanced squad than the previous season and both Pogba and Mkhitaryan are expected to be the players around which the team plays. Rashford, Lukaku and Martial will be responsible to score goals while Pogba and Mkhitaryan create them, making them a formidable force. It is not too far-fetched, even early this season, to band your money on the duo helping United to the league title this season.
