Why this prodigious Algerian star would be a massive hit at Everton if Marco Silva sanctions a deal

Everton Opinion: Adam Ounas can instil new life into the Everton front-line

Everton aren’t enjoying the greatest season under the guidance of former Watford manager Marco Silva. His philosophy is being questioned quite heavily because a squad as talented as this should be in a higher position than the 11th place they currently find themselves in.

With just 33 points on the table after 27 Premier League fixtures, even relatively smaller clubs like Bournemouth and Wolves are currently above the Toffees in the league table. Considering the massive investment that went into the club at the start of the season, they have been extremely underwhelming.

They managed to lure 3 Barcelona stars to Goodison Park in the summer which is a truly commendable achievement. While they were able to complete permanent deals for both Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne, they also acquired the services of midfield sensation Andre Gomes on a loan deal.

With all of this said, they have still struggled in front of goal this season, despite having talented players like Richarlison and Bernard available at their disposal. Even Turkish striker Cenk Tosun was brought in a bid to open the goalscoring floodgates.

This season, they’ve managed just 36 goals so far which. When considering the quality of the Toffees players , this is massively short of the mark. They must be looking to try and fix this issue in the summer to ensure that the high expectations are being met.

A quick look at their current squad shows that positionally, they have three players who are all originally left-wingers but are left with only one right-winger in the form of Theo Walcott.

The former Arsenal man’s career has been riddled with inconsistencies which is why he wasn’t able to stay on at the Emirates for longer. Also, the Premier League veteran turns 30 in March which could obviously mean that his blistering pace in now depleting.

The addition of a right-winger could be the missing puzzle in this puzzle that Marco Silva currently seems to be struggling with. While there are many options out there, the Toffees need to look no further than Napoli’s Adam Ounas.

The Algerian winger has been a sensation over the last couple of years and is still being eased into the Napoli XI. Speedy and supremely tricky on the ball, his movement and sharpness are second to none while his crossing ability will come as a massive boost to Everton’s playing style.

His addition could free up Richarlison to play on his preferred left flank as he has often be utilised on the right out of sheer necessity. At just 21, Ounas can be the ideal man to come in take over the right-flank at Goodison Park.

He has played for Napoli 12 times in Serie A this campaign and has even managed to score 3 goals. He joined from Bordeaux in 2015 and has struggled for game time at Napoli. Despite this, Everton must go all out to bring the talented Algerian to Merseyside as his footballing capabilities are endless.
