The Blues are entering the transfer battle for the Belgian International Radja Nainggolan. According to the reports, the upcoming Chelsea’s manager Antonio Conte has set his objective on Nainggolan as he plans to bring ‘A New Energy’ in the club. With Nemanja Matic not sure about his future at the Bridge and John Obi Mikel is facing hard criticism, the team needs to bring in a defensively disciplined player.
Radja has established himself as one of the finest midfielders in Europe after joining Roma, he has become favorable not just for Chelsea but has been chased by the Serie A contender Juventus since long-time.
As the London side slipped in this season’s Premier League they need to boost up their squad in every department. Starting very firstly with Nainggolan would help the club a lot. Radja Nainggolan has all the defensive qualities that would fit the plans of Conte and Chelsea’s supporters. Considered as an all-round midfielder, the club will price the player at around £35million which will make them a profit of £7m. The 27-year old has his contract until 2020 and the title winning players like Cesc Fabregas, Oscar, Nemanja Matic losing their shape in the league Nainggolan will be a surreal signing for the Blues.
Nainggolan debuted for Roma on 9 January 2014 with a home win over U.C. Sampdoria by 1-0. As the Sporting Director of Roma Walter Sabatini announced that he will be leaving Roma in the summer, a decision on Radja Nianggolan’s transfer will be taken until the successor is appointed.
Over his transfer to Juventus, Radja replied
“I don’t think that I need to go to a club full of stars to win a trophy,”
“I’m happy here, and I want to win with the Giallorossi. It’s better to win a trophy in Rome than 10 with Juventus.”
Conte is known to be a big admirer of Radja Nainggolan and will surely want him to team up with his country-man Eden Hazard at the bridge. In the current season with Roma, the Belgian have appeared in 28 games for the club and have scored 3 goals. The Belgian has created 31 chances and have a passing accuracy of 85% and have conceded very less number of errors.
Well, the stat says it all. Chelsea in need of a defensive player and Nianggolan up for an exit this summer. The defensive crisis may surely resolve if the 27-year old signs up for the Blues.
