West Brom signing this struggling 22-year-old starlet would guarantee automatic promotion

Why West Brom must go all out to secure Emre Mor’s signature

According to El Desmarque (h/t the Birmingham Mail), West Brom are one of the clubs interested in signing Celta Vigo forward Emre Mor, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

Emre Mor, 22, has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Galatasaray this term, including the Champions League, but he is yet to open his account.

But the Turkish club could cut short the winger’s loan spell this month after recruiting Henry Onyekuru and Jesse Sekidika, the report adds. (h/t the Birmingham Mail)

The Turkey international joined Celta Vigo from Borussia Dortmund, but he struggled to adapt to Spanish football, with just 8 La Liga starts across his two campaigns at the Galician club.

He has been affected by a number of disciplinary issues off the pitch. Regardless of that, Brentford and Leeds United have been credited with an interest in Mor. (h/t the Birmingham Mail)

Meanwhile, West Brom currently sit level on points with Leeds United at the top of the Championship table, having scored more goals than any other side in the division.

But the Baggies could suffer a blow this month if West Ham boss David Moyes recalls Grady Diangana back from loan. (h/t the Birmingham Mail)

Once highly regarded as one of world football’s hottest prospects, Mor’s career has subsequently failed to kick on since his move to Borussia Dortmund from Nordsjælland in the summer of 2016.

He spent just one season in the Bundesliga, failing to impress then Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel. Having moved to Turkey on loan from Celta Vigo, the Turk has struggled and needs a move away from Galatasaray to resurrect his career.

A move to West Brom could help Mor get his career back on track. At the age of 22, he is still very young and an astute tactician like Slaven Bilic could help him realise his true potential.

The winger could add the ‘X’ factor to West Brom’s attack, whilst potentially forming a strong understanding with the likes of Charlie Austin, Matt Phillips and Matheus Pereira.

Verdict

This may turn out to be a shrewd addition by Bilic if he is able to convince Mor to make a move to the Hawthorns. Provided the 22-year-old hits the ground running for West Brom, he could help them secure automatic promotion to the Premier League in May.
