Why West Ham Should Consider Appointing Zenit Manager As Hammers Boss: Has All The Tools Required

End Of The Road? Why It Could Be Slaven Bilic’s End At West Ham And The Beginning For Roberto Mancini

West ham are currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table. The Hammers had a mediocre season last term and find themselves knee-deep in trouble again. Slaven Bilic is currently entering his third term with the London club. The Croatian manager has all the odds stacked against him and the odds of him being the first manager this season to get the sack are pretty high at the moment.

In the first 3 games, the Hammers have lacked soul and any kind of impetus. Roberto Mancini seems to be the front-runner to replace the former Croatian defender. The Italian manager is currently employed by Russian big-shot club Zenit Saint Petersburg. Having previously managed Manchester City to a Premier League title, the manager has sufficient experience in English football.

Mancini is known for his cool management of players and if  West Ham come calling for his services, there is a certain guarantee that he will want the job. It’s a win-win for everyone, really. With West Ham currently lacking any sort of impetus and vigor, Roberto Mancini could be the perfect replacement for Slaven Bilic.

The Hammers have also been linked with Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez who is unhappy with his current club following the owner’s failure to get his desired signings through the St. James’ Park door. They would need to pay a £5million compensation in order to get the Spanish manager. Bilic’s prospects seem to be further dampened after he rejected loan moves for both Gregorz Krychowiak and Renato Sanches.

Both players were available for loan moves, but Bilic saw it fit to reject both the players. Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan seems to be dejected following that advancement from Bilic’s side. Apart from Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez, Bilic has not made big-money signings that might have propelled the Hammers up the Premier League table.

Mancini was linked with a move to West Ham even last term, following a poor run of results for Bilic’s side, but the board persevered with the Croatian. This time, the Croat may not be lucky enough and could face the sack if they lose to an impressive Huddersfield side at the weekend. If they do lose, it could mean the writings on the wall for Bilic and his prospects at West Ham.

So far, Bilic has been defiant and says that the team’s results will improve, but the board might be tempted to give a chance to a proven manager like Roberto Mancini, who will be itching to return to Premier League management. Mancini has all the tools required to flourish with West Ham and it could only be a matter of time before he returns to the Premier League following a very short spell at Zenit.
