West Ham shouldn’t miss out on the chance to keep hold of their top-class French star and here’s why

West Ham opinion: Should the Hammers extend Samir Nasri’s contract?

West Ham United signed Samir Nasri on New Year’s Eve on a contract until the end of the season following an 18-month ban due to doping. The Frenchman was given a chance to prove himself by former boss Manuel Pellegrini under whom he won the Premier League with Manchester City.

Nasri has been nothing but a positive influence to the Hammers side since being available and even picked up an assist against former side Arsenal on his debut.

The 31-year-old picked up an injury on his third start for the club, which raised serious concerns about his fitness, but the Frenchman has picked himself up and changed the game for the Hammers after coming on against Huddersfield last weekend.

Pellegrini’s side were 3-1 down against the bottom-placed side but Nasri’s immaculate impact from the bench brought them back into the game that finished 4-3.
