This is the last thing any football fan wants to hear. You might have made big plans for the matches : either by buying a ticket for the game or you might be expecting a few friends over to your place or you might be meeting up in a bar. But what if snow had to play the spoil sport? Well, that is nature for you and currently, in many parts of England there is heavy snow fall and a few matches have already been cancelled.
As of now, no EPL match has been cancelled, but a few lower division matches have been called off :
NPOWER LEAGUE ONE
Scunthorpe v Portsmouth
Crawley Town v Carlisle
Bury v Stevenage
Hartlepool v Colchester
Crewe v Milton Keynes Dons
Yeovil v Preston
NPOWER LEAGUE TWO
Accrington Stanley v AFC Wimbledon
Rochdale v Gillingham
Southend v Plymouth
Torquay v Chesterfield
Port Vale v Bradford
Barnet v Fleetwood Town
Oxford Utd v Rotherham
Bristol Rovers v Exeter
If at all any EPL match was to be cancelled, then there surely would be a loss in revenue, for be it the sponsors or for the bar owners. But the damages of snow could be life threatening and hence if the snow level is really high, FA would not take any chance and call off matches. As of now, no EPL match is cancelled and we will keep you updated on any further news.
