Willian Reveals Why He Trolled Spurs And Liverpool Before Joining Chelsea

Willian

If there is one transfer that has created the most drama over the summer, that has got to be Willian. He was spotted by Liverpool, then conducted his medical at Spurs and finally joined Chelsea. Now the Brazilian has finally come off with a reason to his decision. He has stated that his move to the Blues is mainly because of their manager Jose Mourinho.

“Chelsea made an offer two months ago but I was not allowed to leave [Anzhi Makhachkala],” he mentioned in an interview. “I kept following the club and I used to go to London to follow Chelsea whenever I had free time and now my dream has come true.”

After that he went to say that Mourinho was the primary reason to move to Chelsea,

“I will work with Mourinho who is the best manager and I will grow a lot with him. Other clubs were interested, but my intention and dream of playing for Chelsea made the difference. The opportunity to play with Mourinho, the best manager in the world, also made a lot of difference.”

The Chelsea fans would now expect him to fire for them once he gets on the field and not just grab the headlines for the dramatics during the transfer season. But of course, the big question lies whether he will get the appropriate time on the pitch as Chelsea have a midfield strength that can be fielded all round the park.

In other news, it is being rumoured that Chelsea could go on to sign Fabio Coentrao from Real Madrid in January for a price as low as £7m. Madrid paid an amount as massive as £24m for him two seasons ago and now that seems to be way too much.

The Portuguese left back does not get proper chances at Madrid and thus both the parties want to separate. There are no questions about his abilities but just that Madrid already have too many players and Coentrao lies down the pecking order.

On the transfer deadline day this summer, Manchester United made a move for him but the deal fell off due to time constraints.
