Wolves should raid this high-flying Championship team to sign their 25-year-old in-form goal machine

Wolverhampton Wanderers should definitely make the move for Kemar Roofe

According to the Plymouth Herald, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in making a move for Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe. The 25-year-old has been in supreme form under new manager Marcelo Bielsa’s reign.

The report suggests that fellow Premier League rivals Southampton and Crystal Palace are also interested in signing the Leeds United forward. But Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo must definitely make the move ahead of this counterparts. The newcomers are in need of a new hitman in their squad.

Leeds United are on the back of a win against Wigan Athletic, courtesy the winning goal from none other than Kemar Roofe. The Peacocks have scored a total of 28 goals, which is second only to West Bromwich Albion and the English striker has contributed vastly.

Kemar Roofe

Roofe has made a splendid start to the season, scoring 7 goals and providing 2 assists in 10 appearances this term. The 25-year-old has helped the Peacocks to the first place and Leeds are one of the favourites to lift the title and gain promotion come May. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

The English striker has been one of the main driving forces in the squad. He is a pivotal member of Marcelo Bielsa’s system and their focal point up front. Roofe has averaged 2.7 shots per game this season and has been a menace for opposition goalkeepers. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

He has flourished playing in Marcelo Bielsa’s 3-4-3 formation, with the club playing a Barcelona-esque style of football under the manager. The intense training regime of the manager has allowed the striker to improve on his positioning, finishing and most of all the cohesion with the rest of his teammates.

The fact that Nuno Espirito Santo plays the same formation with his team in the Premier League should more than justify why he will thrive with the Wolves. Roofe has also averaged just 1.2 aerial duels so far and though he’s not the tallest of strikers, the English forward is more than capable of nicking in the headers.

Kemar Roofe

Current Wolves striker Raul Jimenez is on a season-long loan from Benfica and will ideally leave at the end of the campaign. Espirito Santo’s expansive style of football has seen the Mexican flourish and be involved in most of their goals.

But they are definitely going to have to replace those goals and that is why Kemar Roofe is the ideal option. There aren’t a lot of options available in the market at the moment and the 25-year-old seems to a player on the up right now. The Wolves should definitely bring him in.
