World-class Aubameyang, Solid Torreira – The best & the worst rated Arsenal stars in the 4-2 win vs Tottenham

Arsenal Player Ratings vs Tottenham – Here’s how the Gunners fared

Arsenal continued their unbeaten run in the league when they got the better of north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 in a heated but well-contested game at the Emirates. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored from the penalty spot in the 10th minute to give the home side the lead after Jan Vertonghen handled in the box.

Eric Dier and Harry Kane scored in a fantastic four-minute spell for Spurs to put them ahead in the game at the interval. Arsenal came soaring in the second half though, as Aubameyang scored a beauty to equalise.

Alexandre Lacazette’s deflected shot gave the Gunners the lead before Lucas Torreira sealed the deal in the 77th minute. Vertonghen was later sent off for Tottenham. This win puts Arsenal ahead of Spurs in the table, just because of a superior goal difference.

Arsenal Player Ratings

Bernd Leno (6)

Should have done better to save the opening Tottenham goal. Didn’t have much to do after the break other than making routine saves.

Shkodran Mustafi

Shkodran Mustafi (7)

Looked the most assured among the three central defenders. Went off injured with 20 minutes left in the game, which will be a worry as Manchester United game is on Wednesday.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos (6)

During the first half, Sokratis struggled to deal with the Spurs attackers. Dived into the tackle leading to Dier’s goal. Improved after the break.

Rob Holding (6.5)

Unfortunate to have given away a penalty as the contact was minimal on Son. The youngster was good apart from that incident.

Hector Bellerin (6)

The wing-back role suits him as he can influence the attacking moves with more vigour. He almost handed Son a gift with a square ball when the score was 2-2

Sead Kolasinac (6.5)

Just like Bellerin, the wing-back role suits him better. Made runs up the pitch to trouble Serge Aurier.

Lucas Torreira

Lucas Torreira (8)

His first north London derby but boy was he up for it or what. The Uruguayan was everywhere in the midfield, winning tackles and moving the team forward. Scored the nerve-settling goal.

Granit Xhaka (7)

Partnered Torreira well. The Swiss seems to enjoy himself when someone like Lucas Torreira is there with him. Got his customary yellow card, which rules him out of the Wednesday game.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (4)

No impact from the Armenian, who continues to disappoint in the Premier League.

Alex Iwobi (5)

He was a threat with his movement but the decision-making wasn’t there up to the mark.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (9)

What a goal to make it 2-2! Scored the penalty in the first half and was an ever-present danger.

Substitutes

Aaron Ramsey (On at HT) (6)

Slotted into the number 10 role and did well. Grabbed a couple of assists.

Alexandre Lacazette (On at HT) (6)

The Frenchman was barely involved until he scored the goal to give the Gunners a 3-2 lead.

Matteo Guendouzi (On after 70 mins) (5)

Added a bit of energy to the midfield late on.
