Arsenal had sent a scout to monitor a player in the Toulouse vs Rennes match that the former won by 3-1. The clubs being comparatively low profile it was an interesting guess to know which player was being watched. Fabien Leveque believes that the player in interest here is Zinedine Machach.
The young midfielder scored his first goal in his 90 minutes debut in October for Rennes and has been improving to earn himself a regular spot in the first team. He also has helped the team with victories over Troyes and Nice. A left midfielder currently, Machach has definitely looks to be the target of Arsenal.
It does not appear that an immediate bid is expected from the English club but considering a long history of French players in Arsenal we cannot rule out a move. Arsenal has some of the world’s best midfielders at the present and a move will probably hamper Machach’s progress as his game time will be limited in EPL.
