Zidane to make 9 changes – Strongest 4-3-3 Real Madrid lineup to face Leganes

Predicted Real Madrid Lineup To Face Leganes In the Copa Del Rey

Real Madrid will look to advance to the semi-finals of the Copa Del Rey, when they clash against Leganes in the second leg of their quarter-final tie, at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night.

The Galacticos come into the game with a slender 1-0 lead from the first leg and will be high in confidence following their 7-1 triumph over Deportivo La Coruna over the weekend. Having pretty much been knocked out of the race for the La Liga title, manager Zinedine Zidane will see the cup as an avenue to get some silverware come the end of the season and will want to make sure his side don’t slip up.

Team News

Star attacker Cristiano Ronaldo is unlikely to feature for the Merengues due to the gash he picked up near his eye against Deportivo. Karim Benzema returned to the squad over the weekend and could be handed a start. Club captain Sergio Ramos trained with the team this week but may not be thrust into action immediately. Midfielder Dani Ceballos is ruled out for at least two weeks owing to an ankle injury he picked up during training.

Probable Real Madrid XI

Manager: Zinedine Zidane

Formation: 4-3-3

Kiko Casilla (GK)

The designated goalie for the cup competitions, Kiko Casilla should take his spot between the sticks on Wednesday night.

Achraf Hakimi (RB)

The young right-back is likely to be handed a start ahead of Dani Carvajal, who has been struggling to get into form of late.

Nacho (CB)

Scored a brilliant brace over the weekend and would be high on confidence. Should keep his place in the heart of the defence.

Nacho

Jesus Vallejo (CB)

The academy graduate is likely to be given the nod in the backline alongside Nacho, in place of Frenchman Raphael Varane.

Theo Hernandez (LB)

At left-back, another change is very much expected, with Marcelo set to drop out to make way for summer signing Theo Hernandez.

Luka Modric (CM)

The Croatian international could be retained in the starting XI in order for Real to have an experienced head to lead the side on the field.

Marcos Llorente (CM)

The 22-year old Spanish midfielder is likely to take up the defensive midfielder role for the Spanish champions against Leganes.

Mateo Kovacic (CM)

The midfield trio should be completed by former Inter Milan starlet Mateo Kovacic. Will be tasked with providing the forward thrust from the midfield.

Marco Asensio
Marco Asensio

Lucas Vazquez (RW)

On the right-hand side of the attack, Spanish winger Lucas Vazquez could get a look in, with Zidane likely to rest Gareth Bale.

Karim Benzema (ST)

The fit-again Frenchman could be given the chance to lead the line as an opportunity to work his way back to form.

Marco Asensio (LW)

On the left flank, it should be Marco Asensio. The Spanish attacker was the only goalscorer in the previous game and will want to find the net once again.
