Predicted Manchester United line-up to face Spurs in the Premier League

Manchester United will travel to Wembley to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces his first proper test in the Premier League.

Solskjaer has won all five of his fixtures since taking charge on an interim basis following the sacking of Jose Mourinho last month. The Norwegian will hope his Manchester United side goes all guns blazing to beat Tottenham at the weekend.

Tottenham, meanwhile, head into Sunday’s game after beating Chelsea 1-0 in the first leg of Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

Team News

Injured Marcos Rojo has been sent back from the warm-weather training camp in Dubai. Chris Smalling is recovering from a sore foot, while Eric Bailly is suspended.

Paul Pogba has had a few days of treatment for a thigh injury and is expected to be fit in time for the game.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

David De Gea (GK)

The best in the business, De Gea will start in goal for Manchester United.

Ashley Young (RB)

Young has been a reliable performer at full-back for the Reds. He’ll keep his place in the team.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

Lindelof continues to ooze class under Solskjaer. He is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Phil Jones (CB)

Jones will have to be extra attentive in the defence to snuff out any danger that comes into the box. He’ll partner Lindelof in central defence.

Luke Shaw (LB)

Shaw has been a consistent performer for Manchester United this season and deserves to start against Spurs.

Nemanja Matic (CDM)

Matic has been a player revitalised under Solskjaer. The Serbian is back to his old self, protecting the back four and giving the flair players a platform to express themselves freely.

Ander Herrera (RCM)

Herrera adds a lot of tenacity and bite to United’s midfield. He is a certain starter for Sunday’s game.

Paul Pogba (LCM)

Under Solskjaer, Pogba has shown what a player he can be when given complete freedom. He’ll have a chief role to play on Sunday as Manchester United aim to beat Tottenham.

Jesse Lingard (RW)

Lingard’s energy and direct running can cause problems to the Tottenham backline. He is an intelligent player and will look to deliver the goods at his favourite ground, Wembley.

Anthony Martial (LW)

Unplayable on his day, Martial will look to link up with the likes of Pogba, Rashford and Lingard to wreak havoc against the opposition.
